The First Annual Morrison Awards

The Edgar Morrison blog will be now hosting the Annual Morrison Awards. These awards cover, Music, Movies, and TV.

The First award will given to the artist with the best new album.

THE NOMINEES-

A Bigger Bang - The Rolling Stones.
- I really liked this album, It had a lot of everything. It had some really pure rock n' roll songs, a couple of bluesy tunes and a couple slow songs as well. Even though the members are getting old, they have proved that they can still play like they did back in the 60's.

Fingerprints - Peter Frampton
- This Album is amazing. Hands down. Frampton managed to pull off his first all instrumental album. (With some talk box of course) At first I thought "eeehhh, I don't know, an all instrumental by Frampton." I listened to it and I was blwn away. He manages to cover one of the worst songs in history, "Black Hole Sun" By Shinedown and turn it into a work of art. When I witnessed Peter open for Lynyrd Skynyrd at Meadowbrook, I was one of the first people to ever here this song. (It was before the album was out) This is one album that you can't pass up. Amazing.

Face the Promise - Bob Seger
- This was a decent album. I did like it but I have to say that I like a lot of his old stuff a little better, Such as "Turn the Page" and "The Fire Down Below" I think that it was a solid disc and a job well done by Bob.

Modern Times - Bob Dylan
- I was acually a little disapointed with this album. I liked his previous better. I have nothing more to say.

AND THE AWARD FOR BEST NEW ALBUM GOES TO.....

FINGERPRINTS BY PETER FRAMPTON
- Peter, A job well done.

MOVIES-

Nominees-

Nacho Libre-
A solid film. I was expecting a little more though. But the thought of fat, funny men in tight pants... how could you resist.

Clerks II-
Oh My GOD. Who whould even think about making this movie? Why is this nominated? I'll have to have a little chat with my producers. This is definatly not a winner.

The Inside Man-
An amazing movie. Denzel did a fantastic job. I couldn't stop watching it.
Great.

Snakes on a Plane-
Yes folks, this is quite possibly the best movie of the year. I had a great time when I saw it. At first I thought that I would like i because it was so stupid but actually it was a good movie. I had a few laughs during the film which made it a good time. This is the perfect example of the kind of movie that you watch with a bunch of friends.

AND THE AWARD WINNER IS .....

SNAKES ON A PLANE!!

Congradulations Sam Jackson!

TV SHOWS-

Nominees-

Prison Break-

Prison break is a solid show. I liked the first season better than this season though. This season is getting a little cheesy.

Deal or No Deal-

This is a really fun show to watch. I always have fun on mondays watching the jerm freak pound-it with the contestants. My favorite episode was the one with the fat guy from New York. He won like 200,000.

24-

24 is the best show in history. It is full of action and wierd CTU relationships. Kiefer Sutherland does a great job.

AND THE WINNER IS....

24!!!

This one really deserves it.

Thank you everyone for supporting the First annual Morrison Awards. This concludes the awards. Tune in next year for the next winners. Congrats to all of the winners.

I've never heard of this Peter guy. I thought that SOAP and 24 were brilliant picks, though. Just wait for the WaldoAwards, where anyone can vote!

I think "solid" is really turning into a catchphrase here, isn't it? I heard Michard use it too on one of my posts.
